BLURB

Everyone is talking about Hot Toddy. Who is LJ? Does she even know? Growing up in the heartland of America, LJ didn't learn what the world was really like outside the boundaries of her family farm until she left for college in Southern California. She immediately falls head over heels in love with a hot surfer and his sun-and-surf laid-back lifestyle. She picks up modeling and acting gigs to pay down her student loans.

After a few unbearable twists of fate, LJ abandons her Midwestern values for the temptations of Hollywood—and that's only the beginning. Caught in the pressure of balancing a lie and reality, and with her seemingly new best friend, Sidney, becoming more viperous at every turn, LJ can no longer escape the fall down the rabbit hole into a dark world of money and power, where sex sells and everything is for sale.

Hot Toddy is for every young woman who's ever let her foolishness consume her. Part naughty thrill ride, and part serious take on coming of age in a time when wealth and celebrity seem to be the only things that matter, Hot Toddy promises to be this year's best read, with big belly laughs, engaging women characters, and an unexpected finale that will leave you wanting more.

REVIEW

Hot Toddy tells the story of a struggling model who is a good girl and person at heart but gets lost in the Hollywood world due to major influences in her life. You'll see her struggling a lot, losing and making new relationships, both good and bad for her, getting new and diverse jobs, making really bad decisions when it comes to man, jobs and drugs.

"You've got a light inside you that most people out here don't have. You've got a bright, honest energy, girl. And a good heart! And don't you let anyone take that away from you, because if you let them, they will."

You can expect a lot of drama and taboo events in this book. I was a little skeptical in the beginning, specially when the consumption of drugs first appeared in the book, but putting all that world apart, the plot line was super entertaining and I was seriously hooked. I just wanted to keep reading to find out what they hell LJ would be up to next or what they world would through at her.

I was rooting for her to figure things out, give Cole a chance and I was dying for her to ditch that b*tch she called best friend, aka Sid! I never liked her and she seriously is such a bad influence and just more like an enemy than a friend. Now, Naomi is an awesome friend. I hope they stick together.

I was very sad and pissed with Brody for doing LJ wrong, specially since it really messed her up and messed with her decisions regarding Cole and other things. He was seriously such an a-hole.

I loved Cole, at first I thought he was just another douchebag looking for a one night stand but no;  my baby was really crushing on LJ, and god damn that rendez-vous they had was seriously HOT! I hope there's a chance they might get together in the second book.

"Hello love..." he whispers into my hear (...) He looks incredible and smells the same, and his eyes penetrating mine are making me weak in the knees. He has his arm around me and is caressing my bare back, moving his body in response to mine. We're liquid together. He leans down to put his forehead on mine and starts to kiss me softly all over my face and then pulls my hair a little so that he can kiss my neck. He kisses me everywhere but my lips, and the anticipation drives me wild."

Actually, I have a lot of hopes for the second book, besides the Cole one, first and foremost that LJ sticks with her decision regarding Sid.

When it comes to LJ's lastest love interest,Cash, I feel like everything happened way too fast and I have a feeling things might go really wrong on the next book. I don't even know if I'm rooting for them or not, I want her to be happy but as I said before, I'm still holding out hope for Cole.

If you're into the whole Hollywood life style, this book is a great pick! Super fun, drama filled, a lot of debauchery and model/ Hollywood life style cliches. Total recommend!
