I don’t have time for distractions.
I have a billion-dollar company to run. A father to grieve.
A legacy to fulfill.
Harley DeLuca is not my type.
She’s snarky.
She's stubborn.
And she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen—even in
her ridiculous grungy tennis shoes.
I can’t get enough of her.
Harley
I was a mistake from the moment of conception.
The sins of my mother have followed me like a nightmare in a
horror flick.
I’m determined to make a life for myself, free of my past.
I have three goals.
Open a bakery.
Keep Gramps safe.
And forget that I’m Valentina DeLuca’s daughter.
There’s no room in my life for a man.
Especially an arrogant, condescending jerk like Ford
Montgomery.
But now he's my business partner.
My friend.
And if I'm not careful, he just might be—everything.

Review
I was super excited to dive into Laura's new world. Although I'm still on a high from her last one and I know I'll probably never love any of her characters like I love Cruz and Jade, I fell in love with this new group so easily. I didn't expect to like them as much as I did but I just gotta say, Laura writes the freaking swooniest heroes, it's really impossible not to fall in love with them.
Ford was- I can't even you guys. My journey with him was fun. I guess you all must have or will experience it too. He starts off as complete jerk. As soon as he and Harley are in the same room, there is just this insane chemistry that translates into the best kind of banter between them. After that first scene, you just get to see him in all kinds of different scenarios where you get to see who he really is and what he's been dealing with.. and as you see all these sides to him and the parts he hides from people, you just can't help but love him and his hurting heart.
Harley is one sassy, strong and just super cute heroine. I loved her. She was so fun and determined. I love her will and strength. She is one badass gal fighting for her dreams and slaying her own dragons along the way. I loved her bbf Molly. I'm kind of hoping she'll be a heroine in one of the books in the series. I got this vibe from her and a certain Montgomery brother and I just, I might be wrong but I'm hoping I'm not.
I just adored Ford and Harley's relationship. They started off as two strangers who clashed and slowly became friends who secretly wanted more and after one insane kiss or two succumbed to their chemistry and feelings. Then their pasts caught up with them in a way they never saw coming... and threatned what they had built. I'll be honest, at one point I did see it coming, not the whole picture but a part of it. I love when my theories are right aha. But I got say, I love that, how it all came together, how things were dealt with and gah I just fell even more for all three Montgomery brothers. They are all so sweet and I just swooned so hard over all three. Ford was amazing. Jack completely had me falling too. I am so excited for his book and to find out who his heroine will be. He's a player but he has such a soft heart. And Harrison, although he was the one we saw less of and that seems to hide the most of himself, I'm excited for his story too. A second chance romance that is bound to be emotional af... give me!
Legacy is the first book in Laura's new series, the Montgomery brothers, and it is the perfect introduction to this new world and to these three amazing brothers. I already fell in love with all three in the first book, I can't wait to see how much I'll love them when each remaining brother gets his own book. Ford and Harley have the sweetest journey as they go from strangers to friends to lovers but it's not all flowers and rainbows with them, they each have an emotional past that will still rock their world. It's a past that will bring suspense and more turmoil but will also bring this family closer together and certainly make Harley's family bigger. As they say, family isn't always blood.

“What time are you
opening the doors?” he asked, his gaze made a slow perusal of me from head
to toe, stopping at my feet and huffing. “Do you own anything aside from tennis
shoes?”
I rolled my eyes. “We
open at seven, which is when you open, correct?”
“That’s when the
building opens. I get here by six-thirty, and the Wilsons always had a cup of
coffee ready to go for me,” the smug bastard said, looking around and
taking in all the details. “This actually looks—nice.”
I laughed. “Thanks, I
guess.”
“So, I haven’t found
another place that makes coffee like they did. I was hoping you make a decent
cup and I could stop here on my way up in the morning and grab it.”
“Well, I won’t be
staring out the window waiting for your arrival, but you’re welcome to stop by,
and we’ll pour you a cup to go, your highness.”
“That’s fine. As long as
you can actually make coffee that’s tolerable.” He smirked. Ford wore a black
suit, and a white dress shirt, tailored to fit his broad, chiseled body just
so. His brown hair was a bit longer on top and styled to perfection.
“I can’t wait to hear
how high maintenance your order is. I mean, this ain’t Starbucks, bud.”
He rolled his eyes. “I
take my coffee black.”
My head fell back, and I
barked out a laugh. “Black? And you’re being dramatic about it? How hard is it
to make a cup of black coffee?”
“It’s all about the
beans.” He crossed his arms in front of his chest and raised a brow at me. Smug
bastard.
“You know, this is why
rich men get a bad name. You’re ridiculous,” I said before shouting out to my
bestie in the back. “Molly, can you grab me a cup of black coffee to go. Use
the real swanky beans, okay?”
He chuckled. Ford
freaking Montgomery the forty thousandth actually laughed. I was surprised to
see he had an actual sense of humor under his arrogant, annoying demeanor.
