There are things that women want, and things that women need.
I know deep down, with every fiber in my body, that I need Mr. Ward.
He started out as my landscape designer, but became so much more.
Now, my life is on the line while living with the devil himself. I have been torn down and broken, and I don’t think I can take anymore.
The man I need was never the one I married.
No, the man I need is the one I was never supposed to have. He’s the one who showed me gentleness, kindness, and true love.
Ward would put up a fight for me at any cost.
I know for a fact, I could be so much happier with him…
But when I come face-to-face with reality, I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to risk it all for someone I’ve just met, even if it seems like Mr. Ward and I are a match made in heaven.
*This is the second, and final book in the Ward Duet. You must read The Man I Can't Have before reading The Man I Need.
REVIEW
I thought something had been wrong with me for taking almost a week to read a book when I finally had all the time in the world to read but then this baby hit my kindle and I almost read it in one stitting; the only reason I didn't was because I need my sleep and 4 am was my limit that night. But boy did these two reel me in and have a hold one on me until the very end. This story was so gripping and moving. I loved it so much.
Gabby is living through an awful situation and you'll get to see it all happen through her eyes, so yes the first few chapters are not easy to read, specially if you may have triggers. But Gabby is a strong af woman and she is worth more than the money are parents may lose with her separation from Kyle. He tries like heck to force her to stay but she is smart and she finds an escape with the help of her friends and Marcel.
Marcel is her rock through the whole process of leaving and getting a divorce. He is always there to help her through it all but things are not at all easy, there are a lot of bumps on the road, lows and highs and surprises along the way.
The Man I Need is a much angstier and emotional book than the first but it is also much more beautiful and touching and I just love the story Shanora told with Gabby and Marcel. These two together were amazing and perfect for each other. I think Shanora really outdone herself with this book. That ending man, I just love how we got a really big and happy ending and just got to see them enjoy life together and living their happy. I don't know, I think the end of this book seriously sated me...you know when most of the time you get a real small epilogue and things just end a bit open-ended? Well, I felt like this one wasn't like that, and it was pretty darn perfect. I mean, I would still love to read more about these two because I enjoyed them so much but I really think their ending was pretty percfect. We got to see it all happen and see Marcel being a cute romantic fella.
