Review: Royally Yours, Emma Chase

Princess Lenora Celeste Beatrice Arabella Pembrook had an unusual childhood. She was raised to be a Queen—the first Queen of Wessco.

It’s a big deal.

When she’s crowned at just nineteen, the beautiful young monarch is prepared to rule. She’s charming, clever, confident and cunning.

What she isn’t…is married.

It’s her advising council’s first priority. It’s what Parliament is demanding, and what her people want.

Lenora has no desire to tie herself to a man—particularly one who only wants her for her crown. But compromises must be made and royals must do their duty.

Even Queens. Especially them.

**

Years ago, Edward Langdon Richard Dorian Rourke, walked away from his title and country. Now he’s an adventurer—climbing mountains, exploring jungles, going wherever he wants, when he wants—until family devotion brings him home.

And a sacred promise keeps him there.

To Edward, the haughty, guarded little Queen is intriguing, infuriating…and utterly captivating. Wanting her just might drive him mad—or become his greatest adventure.

**

Within the cold, stone walls of the royal palace—mistrust threatens, wills clash, and an undeniable, passionate love will change the future of the monarchy forever.

Every dynasty has a beginning. Every legend starts with a story.

This is theirs.

REVIEW

I was surprised and very happy when this book was announced. I love this series so much so I was over the moon about another book but oh lord I had no idea how much heartbreak I would go through when I started this. I think I spent the first 45% crying with 5 minute breaks, honestly I cried big ugly fat tears. I hadn’t cried liked this over a book in a while...

I loved that we got to watch Lenora grow up and becoming Queen but oh my heart, that girl went through so much heartbreak and turmoil. It was one after the other and still she remained strong, stoic, a true queen. She was a queen to millions and yet she was lonely,at least until she met Thomas. That boy became her bestfriend, he gave her moments where she could be a normal teenager, he made her happy and feel like she belonged . He fed her crush for his brother Edward when he read his letters to her, and Lenora dreamed of one day getting to see the things Edward described beautifully in his letters. After she is made Queen everyone wants to see her get married, but to who? All prospects are either old farts or plain assholes. There is only one young man she can marry and he is her best friend but once again someone is taken away from her... Thomas is sick and he won’t be able to marry her so when his brother comes back home to be there for him, he asks him as his last dying wish to marry Queen Lenora.

Things start off as far from a fairytale as possible, then as not necessarily friends having just lost the closest person to their hearts is very hard. But once they are forced to hang out and plan a wedding and they get to know each other for real, not only do sparks fly but so do feelings flourish. Edward has always been known as a rule breaker and a kinky bastard but watching him with Lenora, he still is all that, but he is also gentle, caring and romantic. Honestly watching him court her, teaching her all the things about a relationship and sex, oh lord! It was so steamy and hot and sweet. These two were perfect together. He was the safe haven she needed away from her royal duties, her stress reliever too ;)

Honestly, I loved Lenora and Edward’s story and I’m so happy we got it and learned how they got together, and how they grew as a couple and as rulers. It was amazing! Such a great, emotional and steamy/romantic story. My heart wasn’t ready for such an emotional journey that was the first part of this book but then the second part more than made up for it, with all the heat and romance. I was living for it.
